Narrative Therapy
Being Narrative Therapy certified means I work from a collaborative approach and consider you the expert in your own life. I will help you uncover the most significant storylines of your life– those which represent your values, goals, assets, and dreams. Together we externalize the problem you are faced with in order to overcome it.
A Narrative Therapist looks at a person’s life in the context of their communities and society. I will ask about your relationship to yourself as well as your relationship to others, and maybe even your relationship to certain ideologies. We will explore your stance on the forces which affect your daily life, and those which uphold The Problem. Together we will move through emotions as clarity emerges.

Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing is a “bottom-up” therapeutic approach. This means we work with the body, or the nervous system, and find that the brain follows. Somatic Experiencing is rooted in research on the human nervous system and the physiology of trauma and distress.
As a SE practitioner, I like to work in the "here and now" to create an experience that leaves you feeling soothed when you leave the session, and which you can replicate on your own. I will carefully track your nervous system’s activation and be able to teach you how to do the same. With this knowledge and practice comes the ability to self-soothe and regulate your emotional and physiological state.

What makes me unique...
is I combine these two different therapeutic orientations to offer you a session which considers our biology’s legacy on the body as well as our modern brain's practice of cognitively making meaning from our experiences. Ultimately, helping you find relief, clarity, and happiness
